Cornerstone University is pleased to announce Dr. Dee Mooney, C.P.A, has accepted the position of vice president and Chief Financial Officer beginning July 1.
“Dr. Mooney was selected from a number of qualified candidates and promises to be a great addition to our executive team,” said Dr. Joe Stowell, president of CU.
Dr. Mooney will oversee and be responsible for all aspects of the financial interests of CU, the Business Office, Human Resources and Financial Aid.
Since 2003 she has served at the University of the Southwest in Hobbs, New Mexico as vice president for administrative services and chief financial officer. Prior to that, she served for 11 years as the vice president for finance and CFO for Bryan College in Dayton, Tenn., and from 1988-1991 as controller at Palm Beach Atlantic University, West Palm Beach, Fla.
She holds a bachelor of business administration in accounting from Baylor University, a master’s degree in accountancy from the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga, and a doctor of educational ministries from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.
Mooney and her husband have two adult children and two grandchildren.
“She has served Christian higher education finances for more than 22 years at three different college settings,” said Dr. Stowell. “Her commitment to Christ and Christ-centered education combined with a high level of proven competency is a great match for both our mission and our culture.”
