Jennifer Hunter is a Professor, Director and Producer of the Theatre Program, Kappa Theta Gamma Sponsor and member of Continuing Excellence in Learning and Teaching. She has directed and produced more than 40 plays and musicals at Cornerstone University, including: The 1940’s Radio Hour, White Christmas, Anne of Green Gables, The Turn of the Screw, The Pirates of Penzance, Bright Ideas, The Woman in Black, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Into the Woods, The Last Night of Ballyhoo and The Heiress.

In 2009, Hunter was selected as a participant with the Lincoln Center Theater lab in New York and as a participant in the Director’s Lab North during the summer of 2011. She was selected as a directing fellow at the Juilliard School in New York City in 2012. Hunter has been nominated and received multiple awards from the Grand Rapids Theatre Awards, and was presented with the Cornerstone University Outstanding Service Award and Hypatia Award. Since 2005, she has been a member of the Association for Theatre in Higher Education.

Hunter enjoys Francis Hodge’s quote, “The theatre will wait for you, but it will not want you if you don’t know what is going on there.” Her favorite Bible verse is 1 Peter 4:10, “God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.”
