Jeffrey Halsted, Ph.D.

Dr. Jeffrey Halsted loves the Lord Christ and His church. Before becoming dean of Cornerstone Theological Seminary, Dr. Halsted served in pastoral and administrative roles for over 30 years. In fact, he continues ministering as senior pastor with Calvary Baptist Church of Grand Rapids, Mich. While pastoring, Dr. Halsted has also served as a professor and pastor-in-residence for Cornerstone University’s undergraduate programs, Cornerstone Theological Seminary and Asia Biblical Theological Seminary. He truly enjoys participating in the missional enterprise of the academy that seeks to serve the church through educating and equipping students for effective ministry for the glory of God and the flourishing of people.

Dr. Halsted holds a Doctorate of Philosophy from Calvin Theological Seminary. His dissertation was titled “Truth, Authority, and Meaning in a Brave New World: Postconservative Evangelical Theological Method after the Cultural-Linguistic Turn.” In addition, he earned two graduate degrees—a Master of Theology and Master of Divinity—from Cornerstone Theological Seminary and a bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in marketing management from Cedarville University.

Dr. Halsted loves to spend time ministering alongside his wife, Robin. He also enjoys his four children who are walking with our LORD and his nine grandchildren who keep him busy and broke! When away from ministry demands, you can probably find Dr. Halsted enjoying a walk on the beach or a ride on his boat.
