Dr. Kim Nguyen is a dedicated professor of Old Testament at Cornerstone University, teaching various Bible courses, including Pentateuchal Literature, Wisdom Literature, Seminar on Psalms and more.
Dr. Nguyen received her Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Houston-Central Campus and then received her M.Div. at Alliance Theological Seminary in Nyack, N.Y. She also holds an M.A. degree and a Ph.D. degree in Hebrew and Semitic studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
A member of the Society of Biblical Literature, Dr. Nguyen is passionate about teaching her students how biblical studies can foster spiritual and intellectual growth in their lives, therefore equipping them for better future leadership in the church and in the society at large.
She is the author of the book “Chorus in the Dark: The Voices of the Book of Lamentations” (Sheffield Phoenix Press, 2013). This book is a revision of her dissertation “Lady Zion and the Man: The Use of Personae in the Book of Lamentations” under the supervision of Professor Michael V. Fox.
Dr. Nguyen is currently working on her second book, focusing on the topic of the destiny of the nations/Gentiles in Isaiah’s eschatological visions. Her future interests include the book of Job and women in the Bible.
