Ancient World of the Bible Study Tour 2020

Grand Rapids Theological Seminary's Israel, Palestine and Jordan Study Tour 2020 is scheduled to begin on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2020, and conclude on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2020. The trip includes extensive travel within Israel and Palestinian territories, on-site exploration of archaeological sites and an intensive study of the history, culture and geography of the region.

  • Day 2 | Late arrival in Amman, Jordan
  • Day 3 | Petra, Jordan with accommodation at SunCity Camp, Wadi Rum
  • Day 4 | Wadi Rum Jeep tour, Arava border crossing and Dead Sea swim with accommodation at Isrotel Ganim Hotel, Dead Sea
  • Day 5 | Jordan River Valley—Masada, Qumran and Beth Shean—with accommodation at Ein Gev Kibbutz on the Sea of Galilee
  • Day 6 | North of Galilee—Tel Dan, Caesarea Philippi, Hazor, Capernaum and Magdala—with accommodation at Ein Gev Kibbutz on the Sea of Galilee
  • Day 7 | Sea of Galilee, Jezreel Valley and the Coast—Galilee boat ride, ancient boat (Ginosar), Mt. Precipice, Megiddo and Caesarea Maritima—with accommodation at the Gloria Hotel in Old City, Jerusalem
  • Day 8 | Jerusalem—Temple Mount, Western Wall, City of David, Hezekiah's Tunnel, Southern Steps, Israel Museum, Model of Jerusalem and Shrine of the Book—with accommodation at the Gloria Hotel in Old City, Jerusalem
  • Day 9 | Bethlehem and Shelpelah: Herodium, Church of the Nativity, Johnny's (shopping), Azeka—with accommodation at the Gloria Hotel in Old City, Jerusalem
