The integrated comprehensive science major provides the broadest preparation for teaching physical, earth/space and biological science courses. This major provides a route toward Michigan certification to teach integrated science, general science, biology, chemistry, physics, earth/space science and physical science for grades 7 through 12.

What distinguishes Cornerstone's Integrated Comprehensive Science for Secondary Education program?

Science at Cornerstone is taught from the point of view that we can learn more about our Creator by studying and caring for his creation. While God's inspired word (the Bible) is the ultimate authority for all truth, his creation also provides us a window to glimpse some of the creativity, wisdom and beauty that are his. After completing this hands-on and challenging program, you will be well equipped to help middle and high school students encounter God by learning about the things he has made.

What can I do with a major in Integrated Comprehensive Science for Secondary Education?

This major will allow you to work toward an endorsement to teach almost all sciences at the 7th to 12th grades. It is currently one of the most sought after teaching endorsements around the United States.

Where are placements available for student teachers in the Integrated Comprehensive Science program?

Students in this major spend a semester student teaching in science classrooms in schools throughout West Michigan or may even choose to student teach internationally.
