Cornerstone Resources Leaders as a 2019 Global Leadership Summit Premier Host Site
by Kristina Garvelink (M.S. ’15)
For more than 20 years, the Global Leadership Summit, a two-day professional development conference organized by the Global Leadership Network, has brought together a lineup of successful entrepreneurs, respected authors and experienced business professionals to present leadership theory and best practices.
One of more than 500 satellite and premier host site locations, Cornerstone University is scheduled to simulcast this year's Summit sessions on Aug. 8 and 9 in Christ Chapel. Alongside the conference programming, the college intends to host opportunities for attendees to network with co-workers and conference guests.
"Cornerstone is committed to empowering our community members to influence the world for Christ," Jordan Grooters, communications coordinator, said. "The annual Global Leadership Summit is an event centered around the idea that everyone is a leader because everyone has influence. We want to encourage our community members to grow their influence in order to impact the world for Christ and His kingdom. As Christ-followers, we're called to be leaders that bring justice, peace, mercy and love into every situation we face."
This year's conference features a diverse faculty of 15 speakers. Sharing managerial principles and inspirational takeaways from frontline leadership experiences in areas such as government, entertainment, criminal justice and fashion, session speakers include Craig Groeschel, co-founder and senior pastor of Life.Church; Bozoma Saint John, chief marketing officer of Endeavor; and Liz Bohannon, co-founder and co-CEO of Sseko Designs.
"The speakers at the Global Leadership Summit offer so much insight and wisdom," Grooters reflected. "I've attended the conference twice, and both times I left feeling motivated to be a better community member, leader and Christ-follower. I appreciate the justice-minded focus and the specific resources that the conference offers for attendees to recognize and identify potential areas for growth within their churches and organizations."
