Care Allen is a Detroit native but has called Grand Rapids her home for the last five years. She is passionate about first-generation and high financial need students. She has a background in housing and residence life and TRiO Student Support Services. Care focuses most of her work from a social justice lens and is passionate about multicultural work.
Care is an entrepreneur and fashion/lifestyle blogger. She owns True 2 Size Shoes an online shoe store specializing in nonstandard sizes and widths carrying sizes 5.5-13 for women. She is also the owner of thefabfinder.com, a fashion and lifestyle blog. In her free time, she loves to worship at her church and spend time supporting locally owned boutiques and thrift stores.
In addition to serving CU, Care serves as both the events fellow and student services fellow for the Diversity Abroad Network, Lighthouse Full Life Center church media team member and a mentorship co-chair for ACPA PAN African Network.
