Academic Support for Adult Learners

Academic Support

At CU's Professional & Graduate Studies, we are interested in making resources accessible.

PGS is aware of the unique opportunities and challenges facing adult learners. Adults bring a wealth of professional and personal experience with them when they embark on an educational journey. Adult learners often have to balance multiple commitments (e.g., professional responsibilities, community commitments, family, etc.). As such, our academic programs are delivered in an accelerated model that allows students to complete their academic goals in as little as 18 months by taking one class at a time in either a face-to-face or fully online context.

PGS provides a new student orientation, online resources, and workshops (e.g., writing, using Excel, etc.) to assist adult learners with the transition back to higher education. Students are assigned an academic advisor and placed in a learning cohort that provides community and academic support for a successful learning experience.
