Now in his thirty-seventh year on the faculty of Cornerstone University, Peter Van Dessel has many performances to his credit, including solo recitals, collaborative work (especially with clarinet) and appearances with orchestra. The latter include the Grand Rapids Symphony Orchestra, the Evangelical Choral Society and the Cornerstone University Symphonic Winds. In a review in the Grand Rapids Press, Gerald Elliot wrote, "Van Dessel gave a stunning performance of the concerto. He traversed its technical pitfalls without a slip, never dropped so much as an eighth note and brought the audience to its feet at the end." A native of New Jersey, Mr. Van Dessel has degrees from Temple University and Houghton College. His teachers include Harvey Wedeen, Dr. C. Nolan Huizenga, Dr. Ronald Boud and David Ott.
