Undergraduate Contemporary Jazz EnsembleMaking A Joyful Noise

The Contemporary Jazz Ensemble offers students the opportunity to develop rehearsal and performance skills in jazz and related styles. Students learn several styles of jazz, including swing, funk, bebop, rock and Latin. Emphasis is placed on learning how to read lead charts and to identify chords commonly used in jazz as well as improvisation. The ensemble includes vocalists and instrumentalists.
