Urban Ministry Cohort Program Expands as Part of Our Destination of Choice Growth Model
Cornerstone University is expanding its Cornerstone Theological Seminary Urban Cohort Program to increase its urban ministry training throughout Grand Rapids, key urban centers in Michigan and the nation as part of its Destination of Choice Growth Model.
Cornerstone University has successfully equipped urban ministry leaders with high-quality graduate theological education to serve the needs of the urban church community in Grand Rapids, Michigan for 13 years under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Royce Evans, Associate Dean for the Urban Cohort Program, who will also lead the program’s expansion.
“The Urban Cohort Program expansion represents our commitment to the urban church community throughout Michigan and beyond. Cornerstone wants to be the destination ministry students choose to pursue a high-quality ministry education that is relevant, sophisticated, and honors the LORD,” said Gerson Moreno-Riaño, President of Cornerstone University and Cornerstone Theological Seminary.
The university is dedicating financial and student support resources to increase the accessibility, affordability and degree completions of new urban ministry cohorts beginning in Grand Rapids. Additional cities for potential cohorts under consideration are Detroit and Chicago with vision to expand throughout the nation as part of a Destination of Choice Growth Model initiative.
Cornerstone’s vision is to ensure that more ministry students have the resources they need to achieve their calling and purpose without sacrificing their family and ministry life in the process.
The Urban Cohort Program offers a Master of Arts in ministry leadership or Master of Arts in biblical studies and students can receive generous tuition scholarships to help them attain their degree.
