About Charles Alber.

Charles F. Alber was elected to the board in 1975 and was honored with Emeritus status in 2001. He regularly attends board meetings and sits on two committees: Adult Learning and Finance & Audit.

An ordained minister, Alber began full-time ministry in 1962 after finishing his studies at Grand Rapids Baptist Theological Seminary and Bible Institute (present day Grand Rapids Theological Seminary of Cornerstone University). He spent 55 years in pastoral ministry, including 32 years as pastor of Campus Baptist Church in Ames, Iowa. Although he retired from full-time ministry in 2004, he remains active, speaking at junior camps during the summer months and serving as Director of Pastoral Care at Chapel Pointe in Hudsonville, Mich. He and his wife, Ruth, live in Wyoming, Mich.
