15th Annual ESL Conference

Event Description

Cornerstone University's English as a Second Language (ESL) Conference provides practical training opportunities for teachers in a variety of teaching situations. Workshops are appropriate for volunteer tutors and professional teachers, for K-12 and adult ESL teaching contexts, and for those teaching in academic, community, or church-based programs. Participants will receive materials, enjoy a continental breakfast, and network over lunch.

CU Red Letter Edition to Glen Ellyn Bible Church

Event Details

Cornerstone University's Contemporary Touring Ensemble, Red Letter Edition, will be worshiping with Glen Ellyn Bible Church on Sunday, April 3, 2016. They will lead praise music in two services: 9:00 and 10:30 a.m. This event will be a part of their 2016 Illinois Tour!

CU Brass to Bloomfield Hills Baptist Church

Event Details

Cornerstone University's Brass Quintet will be joining in worship at Bloomfield Hills Baptist Church on Sunday, April 3, 2016. The service begins at 10:00 a.m. Cornerstone Brass will augment the service with sacred brass pieces as well as special hymns for brass and organ, including "Thine is the Glory"; "Man of Sorrows, What a Name"; and "Rejoice, the Lord is King." This event is part of CU Brass' East Side Mini Tour.

CU Red Letter Edition at Calvary Church IL

Event Details

Cornerstone University's contemporary touring ensemble, Red Letter Edition (RLE), will complete their Illinois tour at Calvary Church  in Orland Park, IL. Red Letter Edition will be leading worship for Calvary Church middle and high school students. The night begins at 6:30 p.m. with activities and games, followed by a time of praise music for all students led by RLE, and a message by a Calvary staff member.  The night will conclude with with praise music led by RLE and Calvary Church small group time.

CU Brass to Plymouth Christian Academy

Event Details

Cornerstone University's Brass Quintet will be visiting Plymouth Christian Academy on Monday, April 4, 2016. Plymouth Christian Academy is a non-denominational, K-12 college preparatory school located in Canton, Mich. CU Brass will be engaged with the Plymouth Christian Academy music community from 9:15 a.m. to 12:20 p.m.

The full morning schedule includes a concert by CU Brass, brass master classes led by Cornerstone's Professor Paul Keen and Dr. Phil Bajema, and side-by-side playing with CU Brass and PCA Concert Band students. This event is a part of the Cornerstone University Brass Quintet's East Side Mini Tour.

You are invited to join the Cornerstone University campus community for "Sacred Stories," an evening performance by the Grand Rapids Symphony of musical selections chosen to complement the narratives depicted in the chapel's stained glass windows. The program will include John Rutter's Requiem, featuring the Cornerstone University Chorale.

Night of Nets 5K

Race Details

Night of Nets is a global campaign to end malaria. Join us on April 30 for the 2nd Annual Night of Nets 5K run/walk, hosted in partnership with World Vision. The event is open to family members, children, and friends of the university; the registration fee is $10 per person. Each race participant will receive a Night of Nets t-shirt and support efforts to purchase bed nets for Zambian families.

When you arrive on campus, check in at Cornerstone University's Corum Student Union; registration will be available from 9:00-9:45 a.m. The race will begin at 10 a.m. Runners will be released in a separate group from walkers.
