Our traditional undergraduate chapel services use a lectionary adapted specifically for colleges by the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry of the United Methodist Church to study the large narrative of Scripture. On Feb. 5, Jonathon Brown will give a teaching based on Isaiah 61:1-4.

Chapel services are open to prospective students and their families, alumni, friends of the university and members of the area community.

Siblings Weekend

Siblings Weekend is an opportunity for you to have fun with your sibling while exploring the Cornerstone University community for yourself. As an additional bonus, you'll receive a free T-shirt for visiting! Don't miss out on an experience-packed weekend with your big brother or sister.

  • Date: Friday-Saturday, Feb. 7-8
  • Who: Younger siblings or close family members (ex: cousin) of current Cornerstone students
  • Check-in Time: 3 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 7 in the Corum Student Union.
  • Additional Overnight Details: Only siblings who are 12 and older are permitted to stay in the dorms overnight. Overnight permission form and registration must be filled out prior to spending the night. If you plan to also stay overnight on Saturday, Feb. 8, please coordinate housing and meal arrangements with your older sibling.*

Music Major Day and Scholarship Auditions

At Cornerstone University, we want to recognize your musical achievements and abilities. That's why we offer music scholarships to all new freshmen and transfer students—not just music majors—in varying amounts.

Music majors who apply for a music scholarship are asked to attend Music Major Day on Feb. 7, 2020. This day serves as your audition into the music program and your audition for a scholarship. If you are interested in majoring in music but are unable to attend this day, you will be able to audition for program acceptance during juries in December.

Music Matters Concert & Lecture Series: Andrew Fritz

At Cornerstone University, the Music Matters Concert and Lecture Series prepares students and community members to advance as musicians through seminars that discuss new ideas in the music industry.

On Feb. 26, Andrew Fritz, adjunct professor of percussion and percussion methods, will give a free lecture titled "Music Moves: A Percussionist's Perspective on What Moves Us to Make Music and Why Music Moves Us." The event is free and open to the public.

Speaker Andrew Fritz

Andrew Fritz is a percussionist, timpanist and music educator based in Grand Rapids, Mich. He has been principal timpanist with the Battle Creek Symphony since 2014 and a member of the percussion section in the Lansing Symphony and the Ann Arbor Symphony since 2015. He also frequently performs with the Grand Rapids Symphony, including their most recent trip to Carnegie Hall in 2018.

Andrew is an active percussion educator with teaching appointments at Aquinas College and Cornerstone University, both as an applied instructor and as a lecturer in percussion methods. He received an artist diploma as a student of Ed Harrison and Vadim Karpinos at Roosevelt University. Andrew also holds a Master of Music degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and a Bachelor of Music degree from Webster University.
