Based on Louisa May Alcott's own family experience (and novel), LITTLE WOMEN, follows the adventures of Jo, Meg, Beth, and Amy March as they grow up in Civil War America. The beloved story of the March sisters is timeless and deals with issues as relevant today as when they were written. Now, this wonderful narrative has been brought to life as an exhilarating new musical filled with glorious music, dancing, and heart. LITTLE WOMEN embodies the complete theatrical experience, guaranteeing a night filled with laughter, tears, and a lifting of the spirit. This powerful score soars with the sounds of personal discovery, heartache and hope--the sounds of a young America finding its voice.

Three guys, one dead playwright, and 37 plays, all in under two hours. In this universally acclaimed theatre experience, the actors involve the audience, a little bit of improve and manage to compress the complete works of Shakespeare into about an hour and 40 minutes of high speed over-the-top hilarity. Knowledge about Shakespeare's works is helpful, but not at all necessary. All that is needed is time enough to watch and someone to dial 911 in case you pass out from laughing so much.
by C.S. Lewis
Adaptation by Judith Fabisch
Director Jennifer Hunter

Based on the classic novel by CS Lewis four London children are sent to a professor's country home in order for protection during World War II. One day, while playing hide and seek, Lucy, the youngest of the children, finds a wardrobe which leads to a magical land called Narnia. They find Narnia imprisoned in 100 years of snow, ruled by the evil White Witch. According to an old prophecy, Edmund, Lucy, Peter & Susan are the "chosen ones" who must join forces with Aslan, the lion God of Narnia, to defeat the Witch and win the great battle between good and evil.

A sinister con-man, Roat, and two ex-convicts, Mike and Carlino, are about to meet their match. They have traced the location of a mysterious doll to the Greenwich Village apartment of Sam Hendrix, and his blind wife, Susy. Sam had apparently been persuaded by a strange woman to transport the doll across the Canadian border. When the woman is murdered the situation becomes more urgent. Through a cleverly construction deception, the men convince Susy that the doll is the key to Sam's innocence. She refuses to reveal its location, and with the help of a young neighbor, figures out she is the victim of a bizarre charade. But as a deadly game of cat and mouse ensues Susy knows the only way to play fair is by her rules, so when darkness falls she turns off all the lights leaving them to maneuver in the dark until the game ends.

*STUDENT PRODUCTIONS
There are also several student produced dramatic presentations each semester, including the “Beneath the Willows” production each spring. This student led collage of theme based theatre scenes are directed and acted outside, in front of the pond at the seminary auditorium. The crowd brings lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the outdoor theatre experience.
Our student produced show this year is "Endgame" by Samuel Beckett directed by student Michael Coon. Theatrical opportunities are open to all students, regardless of their discipline of study.
*CORNERSTONE THEATRE GUILD
Kappa Theta Gamma, Cornerstone’s student theatre guild, supports the dramatic arts on campus and exposes students to opportunities in theatre in the Grand Rapids area. Kappa Theta Gamma strives to develop appreciation for dramatic arts and lend support to Cornerstone University productions by involving students in stage management, technical crews, directing and acting. Kappa Theta Gamma has joined with admissions staff in forming “Breakpoint Ministries”, a traveling drama team ministering to churches and youth groups throughout Michigan and surrounding states.
