Cornerstone University Growth With Career-Ready Christian Focus

News September 2, 2025

Cornerstone University is celebrating strong enrollment increases for fall 2025, with a total enrollment increase of 11% over last year. The growth reflects the university’s commitment to career-ready programs that are affordable and distinctly guided by a Christian worldview that prepares graduates to positively influence industries and communities.

The numbers underscore the university’s broad appeal: new freshmen and transfer student enrollment increased by 18% year over year, while the online population grew 6%. An additional driver of growth is SOAR™, the university’s first-in-the-nation smartphone-based app featuring an innovative business management bachelor’s degree.

“Students and families are choosing Cornerstone because they see the value of what we call The Cornerstone Advantage™,” said President Gerson Moreno-Riaño. “By integrating moral formation, market-aligned skills, leadership and talent development, and experiential learning, we prepare students for a meaningful career and flourishing life. This fall’s increase shows that this vision is resonating in powerful ways.”

Other contributing factors to the fall increases included:

  • 22% undergraduate tuition reset in 2024.
  • Tuition freeze for 2025 and 2026.
  • Online tuition held flat for five years at the lowest rate in the region.
  • Enhanced career support services.

“Cornerstone is grateful students are responding to the steps we’ve taken to make our Christ-centered education more accessible and valuable,” said Heidi Cece, executive vice president for enrollment management and marketing. “We’ve focused on affordability, added and refined in-demand programs that match market needs, and emphasized the skills employers want. Combined with a vibrant campus life and expanded access online and through our mobile-delivered SOAR™ program, Cornerstone is delivering the experience students are seeking.”

From traditional college students to online adult learners to workers seeking upskilling programs, Cornerstone serves students at every stage and is one of the most affordable, accredited private universities in Michigan, the Midwest, and the rest of the nation.
