This week in chapel, Roy Yanke taught on hospitality as a micro-justice, and one of the most overlooked forms of justice. Key scriptures Roy used include Romans 12:12-14, 3 John 1, Matthew 25 and Galatians 6:10. As followers of Jesus we are called to extend hospitality filled with kindness and love for strangers. Roy emphasized that we are called to invite and to listen; our invitations should welcome in the stranger not only to do things for them, but most importantly to be with them. Then, we must demonstrate the highest form of respect by listening to the stranger with our full attention to honor them as an individual.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Roy Yanke is the current executive director at PIR (Pastor-in-Residence) Ministries, which seeks to provide support in a restorative environment to “at-risk” and exited pastor by joining together with God and the local church. In addition, Roy offers a Pro-D assessment and consultation to students that are enrolled in the Spiritual Formation course. He and his wife, Deb, have celebrated over 40 years of marriage. They attend Grace Chapel EPC, where Roy also serves as an ordained ruling elder and frequent teacher.
