Academic Tutoring / Academic Coaching
Free tutoring is provided to students to assist in achieving academic success. A Peer Academic Tutor is for subjects such as math, history, etc., and meets 1-hour a week to help cement classroom learning. A Peer Academic Coach on the other hand assists a student with studying techniques, organizational skills and services as an accountability partner as it relates to course learning outcomes and requirements. Interested students will complete a brief Academic Assistance Survey to receive tailored support in either academic tutoring, writing support, academic success coaching, and/or an accessibility services referral.
NetTutor, a 24/7 virtual tutoring option is also available for CU Online students.
* Seminary students should utilize their courses’ professor and peer coach due to the specificity of the seminary’s writing format and Greek / Hebrew courses.
Writing Support
With a Writing Tutor you will receive one-on-one guidance on essay mechanics and research writing, citations, style guides and more. Additionally, Writing Hubs are drop-in sessions located at Miller Library during various times to meet your scheduling needs to answer more brief questions related to writing assignments.
Accessibility Services
At Cornerstone, we are dedicated to providing full access to academics for every student. In compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, we offer reasonable accommodations to students with disabilities who complete our Accessibility Services application and upload relevant supporting documentation.
Pathway
The Pathway Program at Cornerstone exists to provide an intensive support system for underclassmen students both inside and outside the classroom. Pathway includes semester study labs for assistance in all semester courses, individualized academic mentorship, smaller class sizes, and extracurricular activities related to learning and intellectual development.
