“Experiencing the fullness of ministry so that it’s life-enriching.” That’s how Notre Dame professor Matt Bloom describes flourishing in ministry. His definition sounds akin to Jesus’ declaration that he came that his followers “may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10).

Yet, for some pastors, ministry is anything but “life-enriching.” Instead, it is soul-draining, wellbeing-eroding work.

In this video, Bloom describes how he became interested in wellbeing at work in general and among those in ministry specifically. Healthy communities need healthy churches which need healthy pastors, he claims. But how do pastors stay healthy? What leads to their wellbeing? Watch the video to learn more.
