Student Scholarships

At Cornerstone University and Cornerstone Theological Seminary, scholarships help ensure that a Christian higher education experience remains affordable for students. Through the generosity of donors, we are able to offer memorial scholarships, athletic scholarships, academic scholarships and more.

Your tax-deductible contribution toward student scholarships allows Cornerstone University to offer programs, resources and experiences that help our students achieve their dreams and receive biblically-based guidance for their calling.

Establish a Scholarship

To start a scholarship or find a fund that aligns with your interests, call the Advancement Office at 616.254.1668 to talk with Mark Tremaine, advancement advisor. If you are interested in giving an online gift toward a scholarship fund, be sure to indicate the name of the scholarship at the time of your gift.

Types of Scholarships

Cornerstone University and Cornerstone Theological Seminary endowed scholarships provide students with an affordable Christ-centered college experience. Interest earned is awarded as scholarships so that the scholarship will impact future generations of Cornerstone students.

Athletic Scholarships

Athletic scholarships are awards are based on proven athletic ability. Scholarship criteria may be obtained by contacting the athletic director or our coaching staff.

Endowed Scholarships

Endowed scholarships require a minimum commitment of $21,000, which can be made in a single contribution or over several years. Contributions to an endowment are never spent, so endowed scholarships remain in perpetuity.

Memorial Scholarships

The establishment of a memorial scholarship is a fitting way to honor someone close to you or someone who has had an influence on your life. A memorial scholarship can be established in another person’s name.

Restricted Scholarships

Restricted scholarships can be established with a gift of any amount—whether an annual donation or a one-time gift. Depending on the scholarship criteria established by the donor and university leaders, either 100% of a restricted scholarship contribution or a designated amount is awarded each year to students.

Student Scholarship General Fund

A gift to the CU Student Scholarship General Fund not only helps with financial aid for students, but it also funds improvements in lab equipment, learning technology, counseling services, chapel speakers, residence hall furnishings and much more—all of which assist Cornerstone in offering a student-focused learning community where Jesus Christ is central!

ABTS Scholarship Fund

Asia Biblical Theological Seminary exists to equip national church leaders throughout Asia by deepening their understanding of God’s Word and upgrading their skills in ministry. 84% of our students live in economically difficult conditions and, therefore, cannot afford our tuition rate of $155 per credit hour. The ABTS Scholarship Fund is set up to significantly reduce the tuition rate based on nationality. Most of these students pay from $15 to $30 per credit hour thanks to the generous giving of donors like you.
