God has uniquely gifted each of us to meet the needs of others. So, on Cornerstone’s campus, in addition to what students hear and see in the classroom, how might students discern, discover, and develop their gifts? Where might they learn about places to deploy them? The Center for Experiential Learning can help.
First, in partnership with CU’s Career and Life Calling, CEL sponsors field trips to employers in the Grand Rapids region. These excursions are open to all students.
Second, CEL selects students and engages them in research projects for real clients, both internal and external to the university.
Third, CEL operates Rocky’s Coffee House and Rocky’s Market, which gives students the opportunity to plan, implement their plans, and measure the results of their implemented plans in a real business.
Fourth, CEL mentors students engaged in their own start-up ventures within MGT-337: Entrepreneurship and beyond.
Fifth, a select group of CEL students serve on CEL’s governing cabinet.
