Transcript Evaluation

Want to know how your credits will transfer and how the credits you have already earned will help you achieve your degree at CU? Complete the form and submit your unofficial transcript to receive an unofficial evaluation of your credits, course advising, and a clear pathway to finishing your degree at Cornerstone.

Cornerstone will accept college credits from an accredited institution that are 100 level or higher with C- grade or higher earned for the entire course. Technical courses will not transfer to Cornerstone.

If you have earned college credits from advanced placement or similar exams, you can view credit equivalency guides on our Registrar page.

MACRAO Agreement

The MACRAO Transfer Agreement is designed to facilitate transferring from community colleges to baccalaureate colleges and universities. It provides for transferability of up to 30-semester credits to meet many—and in some cases all—of the general education requirements at participating Michigan four-year colleges and universities. You may complete the MACRAO Transfer Agreement as part of an associate degree or as a stand-alone package.

Once the specified set of courses is completed, the courses will transfer and be applied toward meeting the general education requirements at the four-year college or university.

Note: Cornerstone University’s agreement has limitations. While many Michigan colleges and universities honor the MACRAO Transfer Agreement, some institutions participate in a more limited manner. We recommend that you check with the receiving institution regarding their transfer policies.

General Education Transfer Course Requirements

A minimum of 30 credits must be taken in the following areas at the community college level to satisfy MACRAO Endorsement requirements:

  • English Composition: 6 credits. CU requires a research component in at least one English course.
  • Science and Math: 8 credits. You should select College Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus I or II.
  • Social Science: 8 credits. You should select from these subject areas: social sciences, psychology, sociology, or economics.
  • Humanities: 8 credits. You should select an introductory philosophy course and World Civilization II.

In keeping with the Christian liberal arts philosophy of Cornerstone, you will be required to complete course work in the following areas in addition to the MACRAO Endorsement:

  • Arts and sciences.
  • Biblical and theological studies.
  • Global studies.

As a transfer student, you should verify MACRAO requirements and course selection with your community college adviser. You should also request MACRAO Endorsement when requesting official transcripts.

Additional Course Transfer Information

Cornerstone subscribes to the MACRAO agreement. With a MACRAO transcript, you can fulfill core general education requirements at Cornerstone with the following conditions:

  • One course from College Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus I or II.
  • One course in Introductory Philosophy.
  • One course in World Civilization II.

The MACRAO agreement applies only to general education requirements and does not exempt you from meeting requirements of your specific program, major, or other graduation requirements at Cornerstone. You should check the university’s academic catalog to determine if any courses required for your major can be used to satisfy MACRAO.

The CU agreement does not allow the full transfer of an associate degree as a fulfillment of its general education and core requirements. With a MACRAO approved transcript for general education purposes, you will also be required to complete the remaining general education requirements as well as those requirements for your major field of study and all other graduation requirements.

While attending a community college, you can plan well by selecting the suggested courses in the areas of math and the humanities.

At Cornerstone, I feel at home. The people here make it worth it. The quality education and the community life here equip me to be the man that God wants me to be.
