With dual enrollment at Cornerstone University, you’ll get a head start on your future—wherever it takes you. The dual enrollment program through the HSB gives you the opportunity to take a college course for credit on a flexible schedule, while saving time and money in the long run. At Cornerstone, we take both faith and learning seriously—you’ll be taught by dedicated professors who love God and love their students.

Through this course, you’ll learn more about what it’s like to be a college student. As you interact with your professor and challenge yourself with assignments and projects, you’ll build a firm foundation for your future. In addition to meeting Cornerstone’s social science general education requirement, these credits can also transfer to universities across the country and the world.

General Psychology

General psychology will offer you a basic introduction to psychology as a whole, covering influential people, concepts, theories and methods. Topics in this eight-week, 3-credit course include development, personality, perception, learning, biopsychology, psychological disorders and treatment.

Understanding psychology can be a valuable tool in your personal and professional life. Not only will you understand yourself and others better, you’ll also develop research methods that can help you as a college student. And when you take the course at Cornerstone, you’ll learn with a Christ-centered perspective.

Meet Your Instructor: Nicole McDonald

Dr. Nicole McDonald serves as a professor of psychology at Cornerstone University. She also acts as a mentor and adviser for students studying psychology and is passionate about helping them succeed in their field. She holds a Master of Arts, Educational Specialist degree and a Ph.D. in psychology.

Spring 2022 Course Dates

General Psychology is an eight-week course that meets on Thursdays from 3-5 p.m. The class will meet on the following dates. The class will not meet on March 10 and April 7 due to spring break.

The registration deadline for this course is Jan. 18, 2022. High school juniors and seniors are encouraged to apply. High school sophomores interested in taking this course should contact the Admissions Office directly.

Learn On Your Schedule

The general psychology course through dual enrollment at Cornerstone is taught in a hybrid learning style. This means you’ll learn at the HSB one day a week, and then complete the rest of your course work as your schedule allows. This gives you flexibility in your schedule for your other schoolwork and extracurricular activities.

Dual enrollment courses save you money in the long run. At only $191 per credit hour, you’re paying a fraction of the cost of regular college courses.
