Golden Eagles Play To A 0-0 Tie WIth Madonna

Oct 21, 2009

The Golden Eagles played Madonna to a 0-0 tie this afternoon and moved a little closer to securing a spot in the WHAC playoffs by gaining a valuable point.  The Crusaders played a man down for 102 minutes and fought hard to keep the Golden Eagles off the board.  The Golden Eagles best chance came in the second half when Isaac Grotenhuis hit a one time shot from the top of the box that Madonna keeper Steve Besk just got his fingertips to and pushed it wide for a corner.  The Golden Eagles outshot Madonna 11-7.  Cornerstone improved to 6-3-1 in the WHAC and will play another crucial game on Saturday when they host Indiana Tech at 2:30 p.m.
