The Cornerstone women's volleyball team made quick work of the visiting Cardinals on Thursday night by winning in three. CU bettered their conference record to 7-6 with the season winding down. In game one, Concordia stuck with the Golden Eagles early on before Cornerstone put together a rally and went on to win 25-16. In game two, CU started out strong and never looked back as they cruised to a 25-12 victory. The Golden Eagles took the match in game three by winning 25-14 after pulling away early.
Cornerstone was led at the net by Katie McKee and Alicia TerHaar who finished with 11 and 10 kills respectively. TerHaar had a .500 hitting percentage on 16 attempts followed closely by McKee with .421 on 19 hits. Marcie Blacquiere had 31 assists and 13 digs on the night to lead the Golden Eagles. TerHaar also contributed with 11 digs while McKee added five blocks.
Cornerstone will return to action on Tuesday when they host the Panthers of Davenport at 7:00. Both teams will be battling out fourth place to host first round action of the WHAC tournament which begins the following week.
