University of Valley Forge Transfer Opportunity

University of Valley Forge students will be guaranteed admission to Cornerstone University when they meet Cornerstone’s applicable admission requirements.

Admission to programs with additional requirements, including professional licensure, clinical placement, audition, portfolio, academic prerequisite, or specialized accreditation requirements, remains subject to those standards.

Cornerstone will waive the application fee and any applicable initial enrollment deposit for students admitted through this transfer opportunity. Students will also receive expedited admission and transcript review.

Cornerstone will accept the maximum number of eligible transfer credits permitted under institutional policy and applicable accreditation requirements.

Accepted credits will be applied toward specific degree requirements whenever academically appropriate, including the Cornerstone Core, the student’s major, supporting or cognate requirements, a minor or concentration, and general electives.

Credits will not be classified only as electives when the completed coursework reasonably satisfies a specific Cornerstone requirement. Differences in course titles, numbering systems, departmental structures, or academic calendars will not by themselves prevent coursework from being accepted as equivalent.

Cornerstone will not require students to repeat coursework determined to be substantially equivalent to a Cornerstone course or degree requirement.

Cornerstone will establish course-for-course equivalencies.

Approved equivalencies may be based on course descriptions, credit hours, learning outcomes, syllabi, assignments, contact hours, and other appropriate academic documentation.

When a UVF course has been approved as equivalent to a Cornerstone course, it will satisfy the corresponding Cornerstone requirement without additional review or repetition.

Students who have completed the University of Valley Forge general education curriculum, or who have earned an approved associate degree, will normally be considered to have satisfied the Cornerstone Core.

Students who have earned at least 30 college credits but have not completed the full UVF general education curriculum may also qualify for a full or partial Cornerstone Core waiver following an individualized transcript and course evaluation.

Cornerstone will evaluate the breadth and content of the student’s completed coursework and will apply that coursework broadly toward Cornerstone Core requirements. Students will be required to complete only those Core requirements needed to address meaningful gaps in their prior education.

This provision does not waive major-specific prerequisites, professional licensure requirements, specialized accreditation standards, or other requirements that must be completed as part of a particular academic program.

Cornerstone will make reasonable academic accommodations to preserve each student’s expected graduation timeline.

These accommodations may include the application of UVF coursework to major requirements, approved course substitutions, exceptions to normal course sequencing, customized scheduling, and the use of traditional, online, accelerated, independent study, or directed study options when academically appropriate and available.

Cornerstone may also waive the normal requirement that a student complete at least nine credits in the major at Cornerstone when approved course-for-course equivalencies established through this transfer process demonstrate that the student has satisfied the applicable major requirements.

To support students who have met all other required graduation criteria Cornerstone may waive residency requirements while other requirements imposed by law, licensure, professional standards, or specialized accreditation shall remain in effect.

Each eligible student will receive an individualized transfer and credit evaluation before making an enrollment commitment.

The evaluation will identify the credits Cornerstone accepts, how each course applies to the student’s degree, any remaining Cornerstone Core requirements, remaining major and elective requirements, institutional residency requirements, and any program-specific academic or professional requirements.

The purpose of the evaluation is to give students a clear and accurate understanding of their remaining path to graduation.

Cornerstone will provide each student with a written, customized degree-completion pathway.

The pathway will show how previously earned credits apply, which courses remain, the recommended sequence of those courses, the anticipated number of semesters or terms needed to graduate, and the available delivery formats.

The pathway will be designed to avoid unnecessary duplication and preserve the student’s expected graduation timeline whenever academically and operationally feasible.

Depending on the student’s prior program and educational goals, the pathway may lead into an equivalent Cornerstone program, a closely related major, an individualized degree-completion plan, a SOAR or Cornerstone Online program, or an eligible graduate or seminary program.

Cornerstone does not guarantee that every UVF program can be reproduced exactly. Cornerstone will, however, seek to preserve the academic value of the student’s completed coursework and provide the most efficient academically sound pathway to graduation.

Cornerstone University’s published undergraduate tuition is lower than the University of Valley Forge’s published tuition. Cornerstone’s published housing and food costs are also lower than UVF’s published housing and food costs.

Because Cornerstone already provides a lower published direct cost, this transfer opportunity does not establish a general tuition-matching guarantee.

Eligible students will receive an individualized financial-aid review and will be considered for all Cornerstone institutional, federal, state, and external aid for which they qualify.

UVF students will automatically receive a transfer scholarship.

Students may submit their most recent UVF financial-aid award to assist Cornerstone in evaluating the affordability of the transfer pathway. Cornerstone will consider the student’s prior UVF institutional scholarships and grants when developing the Cornerstone financial-aid package.

Consideration of prior UVF aid does not guarantee a dollar-for-dollar match. Cornerstone may provide an additional UVF Transition Scholarship when appropriate to support affordability and enrollment.

Before enrollment, students will receive a written estimate of tuition, housing and food costs when applicable, fees, grants, scholarships, and anticipated net direct cost.

All financial aid remains subject to eligibility requirements, enrollment status, satisfactory academic progress, available funding, and applicable federal and state regulations. Students apply for free with no application fees.

Eligible UVF students who enroll in an approved SOAR or Cornerstone Online undergraduate program will receive a 27 percent tuition discount from the otherwise applicable tuition rate.

The discount applies to tuition only and may not be combined with another institutional tuition discount unless specifically approved by Cornerstone.

The discount will remain available for the duration of the student’s approved degree-completion pathway, provided the student maintains continuous enrollment and satisfactory academic progress.

Cornerstone will designate a primary contact to assist UVF students throughout the transfer process.

This support will include assistance with admission, transcript collection, transfer-credit evaluation, financial aid, academic advising, registration, housing when applicable, orientation, and enrollment transition.

Cornerstone will seek to complete the student’s academic and financial review promptly after receiving all required records and documentation.

Students participating under this transfer opportunity are responsible for completing the Cornerstone application, submitting or authorizing the release of official transcripts from all institutions attended, providing required financial-aid documentation, and meeting applicable enrollment, registration, payment, housing, and orientation deadlines.

Students must also meet Cornerstone’s academic standards, satisfactory academic progress requirements, and all applicable program requirements.

Cornerstone University retains authority over its admissions decisions, curriculum, academic standards, transfer-credit determinations, financial aid, student conduct, housing, and university operations.

Nothing in this transfer opportunity waives requirements imposed by federal or state law, specialized accreditation, professional licensure, clinical or field-placement partners, or other external governing bodies.

This transfer opportunity applies to eligible University of Valley Forge students entering Cornerstone University during the approved transition period.

Students admitted under this transfer opportunity will retain the academic and financial terms included in their approved transfer evaluation, degree-completion pathway, and financial-aid award, subject to the conditions stated in those documents.
