Cornerstone University Remembers Lee Allen Geysbeek
On Dec. 2, the Cornerstone University community was saddened to learn of the passing of Lee Geysbeek (B.A. ’93) at the age of 63. Prior to his work as the U.S. radio marketing director with Compassion International, Geysbeek served as the longtime manager of WCSG and vice president of Cornerstone University Radio.
Chris Lemke, executive director of WCSG, worked alongside Geysbeek for more than 28 years. He remembers Geysbeek for his upstanding character, faith commitment and nationwide influence in Christian radio broadcasting.
"Lee's leadership and influence at WCSG and our other radio ministries is positively, indelibly imprinted on those who've been privileged to work alongside him," Lemke reflected. "His vision and optimism were contagious and inspiring, only outmatched by his love of his Lord, his family and his friends and family with whom he served."
Geysbeek graduated from Cornerstone in 1993 with a bachelor's degree in history. Named as an alumnus of the year by the Cornerstone Alumni Association in 1998, Geysbeek, in addition to his employment with Cornerstone's radio broadcast ministry, also gave back to the university through past service as a member of the alumni board.
"Lee never really left WCSG," Lemke concluded. "His legacy and prayers are alive in each of us who continue to do as he did in showing others the way to Jesus."
A celebration of life service was held for Geysbeek on Dec. 7 at Jamestown Baptist Church in Hudsonville, Mich. To extend your sympathy to the Geysbeek family, you are invited to sign an online guest book coordinated by VanderLaan Funeral Home.
