The General Science minor is designed to give you broad, flexible exposure to both the physical and biological sciences, allowing you to advance your interests while strengthening skills used in science-based careers. Students will choose coursework across the physical and biological sciences, including:

General Science Minor

Two courses (CHM, PHY, SCI designations)
Build a strong foundation in chemistry, physics, or applied science by learning how physical systems work, how data is measured and analyzed, and how scientific principles explain real-world processes.

Two courses (BIO, ECO designations)
Explore living systems and the natural environment, strengthening your understanding of biological processes, ecosystems, and the role science plays in health, sustainability, and life sciences.

One physical or biological science course
Deepen your learning by selecting an additional science course that complements your major or interests, helping you connect concepts across disciplines and apply science in broader contexts.
