Cornerstone University Board of Trustees Welcomes Kelly Miller

Cornerstone University announces the addition of Kelly Miller to its board of trustees. This appointment marks the second time that Miller has served on the university’s board (1995-2004).

Miller is the president and CEO of the Miller Investment Company. He has been involved in the oil and gas industry since 1978, focusing his efforts in the areas of strategic planning, prospect development, acquisition and administration. Miller served as President of Miller Oil Corporation from 1986 to 1997 and as CEO and president of Miller Exploration Co. from 1997 to its merger in 2003. Since December 2003, Miller has served as CEO and president of Eagle Investments Inc., a privately held oil and gas exploration and production company headquartered in Traverse City, Michigan.

Miller received a B.S. degree with a major in Petroleum Geology and a B.B.A. degree with a major in Petroleum Land Management from the University of Oklahoma. He also completed the Owner/President Management Program through the Harvard University Graduate School of Business. He is a Certified Petroleum Geologist with the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, an international geological organization. Kelly also serves on the Board of Governors of the Independent Petroleum Association of America and the Boards of Directors of the Michigan Oil and Gas Association.

Miller’s uncle, C. John Miller, actively served as a Trustee at Cornerstone from 1964-2003 and as an Emeritus Trustee until his death in 2014.

Miller and his wife, Debra, live in Traverse City. In his free time, he enjoys tennis, skiing, fishing and spending time with his wife, his children and his grandchildren.

Miller says his passion for Christian education stems from a love for family values. “My interest in Christian education isn’t just a passion, but a responsibility. When we help our brothers and sisters in Christ be successful, we create success at so many levels and in perpetuity.”
