Cornerstone University to Host “Strikes for Stripes” 2025 Softball Fundraiser Honoring Veterans and First Responders

News August 18, 2025

Grab your ball cap! Cornerstone University invites students, families, veterans, first responders, and the West Michigan community to join us on September 13 for Hero Services’ Strikes for Stripes 2025: Veterans vs. First Responders softball game and fundraiser.

As proud sponsors and partners of Hero Services, we’re honored to support this annual event that commemorates the anniversary of 9/11 through celebration, reflection, and fundraising for those who dedicate their lives to protecting others.

Meet us at Cornerstone’s De Witt Field for the head-to-head softball game and pre-game festivities, including a Touch-a-Truck Show, where guests can explore military and emergency vehicles up close. Enjoy food and fun for all ages! Proceeds from Strikes for Stripes benefit the Hero Services Wellness Program and the Hero Services Relief Fund.

Event Schedule – Saturday, September 13, 2025

  • Gates Open: 5 PM
  • Touch-a-Truck Show: 5 PM
  • Pregame Ceremony: 6:30 PM
  • Veterans vs. First Responders Softball Game: Follows the ceremony

The evening kicks off with a heartfelt ceremony recognizing those who serve, including “God Bless America” sung by a Cornerstone University student. A special pre-game memorial walk is available featuring a piece of the World Trade Center on display in remembrance of 9/11.

Admission is free for Cornerstone University students with a CU ID. Please support this important organization through a merchandise purchase or donation to honor these dedicated community servants.

Come out for a night of honor, remembrance, and celebration! To purchase tickets, buy merchandise, or learn more, visit: heroservicesofwm.com/strikes-for-stripes.

We are proud to welcome Hero Services as a partner to make Christ-centered, career-focused education more accessible than ever through SOAR™ — Cornerstone University’s first fully smartphone-delivered, affordable business bachelor’s degree.
