From Politics to Purpose: Tudor Dixon’s Journey to Christ and Her Call to Make Heaven Crowded

News October 24, 2025

“We all have a beautiful story of how we came to know Christ.”

With this heartfelt opening, Tudor Dixon, Cornerstone University’s national President’s Fellow and student mentor, began to share her personal faith journey during a special Community Chapel, having spent an inspiring time that morning with students in the President’s Fellows program.

Her story is filled with joy, heartbreak, and God’s overwhelming love and peace. She related her testimony to our theme this year: “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and no one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6).

Tudor acknowledged that everyone’s steps leading to Christ are different. A former Michigan gubernatorial candidate, respected family steel industry business leader and current host of The Tudor Dixon Podcast and political commentator, her journey began with the early influence of grandparents who were lifelong faithful servants to Christ and the church. Yet, her immediate family was “Creasters,” those who attended church only on Christmas and Easter.

Painting a vivid picture of childhood visits to church with her grandparents, she recalls that significant “seeds” were planted in her young heart and mind. When the family lost her grandmother to cancer, Tudor was given the daunting task at age 25 of communicating the impact of her grandmother’s life. In that moment, she recognized the power of Jesus lived out through her grandmother’s eyes and influence on her family and community.

Years later, in Michigan, and as a new mother, Tudor was asked to join a local Bible study and children’s ministry. She thought, “I’d better learn a little bit about the Bible.” What unfolded was a years-long faith discovery that was challenging and hard, requiring commitment during the ups and downs of her life that included the loss of unborn children, the rejection of friends who scorned her devout faith, and a battle with and recovery from breast cancer.

“Once you start to read the Bible and once you start to understand and know the LORD, things will happen in your life, tragedies will happen that you’ll get through with God,” she assured the audience. “Through those valleys, you will learn how to share the amazing gift of God and the eternal life that he provides us, which is way beyond this world.”

While raising her four girls, discovering breast cancer was especially shocking. Candidly, she admitted, “We jump to the worldly thoughts before we go directly to him.” Then the LORD’s words came to her, “Do not cry. Do not let those dark thoughts into your head. This will be your story, we’ll tell it together.” She said, “That was the last tear I shed.”

She went on to describe the toll her political race for Michigan governor took. She observed that humans will fail us, even attack us for our faith and moral values. She mentioned Charlie Kirk, whose martyrdom for his faith has had a global impact for Jesus Christ, sparking a growing return to church, especially among young people.

Tudor tied these experiences to the courage needed to live out our faith today. She detailed the Scriptural story of Esther, which reveals how she risked death as an act of obedience born of faith. Next, she described young David, who overcame the giant Goliath as an unprepared shepherd boy anointed for his specific time. “When people tell you, ‘for such a time as this,’” she said, “don’t think it means it will be easy. True calling often demands sacrifice.”

Said with the conviction of one who has walked through life’s challenges and is called to continue to serve for her time, Tudor urged, “God wants you to know that there is power in all of you for Him. There’s a story for each one of you, and just like your testimonies, they will all be different.”

Tudor prayed for the community and offered them this charge: “While you are here, take this time to make it about Him. Take this time to make sure we make heaven crowded. It all leads back to Jesus, the Way, the Truth and the Life.”
