Remembering Judge Robert H. Bell

News June 19, 2023

The Cornerstone community mourns the loss of the Honorable Judge Robert H. Bell, who went home to be with the Lord this past week at age 79.

Judge Bell was a dedicated member of our Board of Trustees through 2009 before being asked to chair the Criminal Law Committee of the United States’ Judicial Conference. Over his decades served as a trustee, the LORD truly blessed Cornerstone.

Colleagues remember him as an indelible mentor who demonstrated a heart for Cornerstone and its mission. His life was steeped in his walk with Jesus and his devotion to family.

Judge Bell spent 30 years as a Federal Judge, including service as Chief Judge from 2001-2008. He also served six years on the Criminal Law Committee for the United States’ Judicial Conference, which included a 3-year appointment as Chair by Chief Justice John Roberts commencing in 2010.

Our prayers go out to Judge Bell’s family as they mourn the loss of a loved one but rejoice in His heavenly reward with the Lord.
