Cornerstone University Prepares to Dedicate Newly Remodeled Softball Stadium

News Sept. 14, 2017

On Sept. 16, 2017, Cornerstone University will celebrate and re-dedicate the newly remodeled women’s softball stadium.

Cornerstone softball fans and alumni are welcome to an evening of softball, food and fellowship, and will be given an opportunity to check out the new stadium.

“I’m excited for the opportunity to showcase our newly renovated stadium, welcome alumni and their families back to for an action-packed night and celebrate the awesome things God is doing on this campus,” Dennis Graham, director of Alumni Relations, stated. “I’m elated that our current softball team will get to play in a stadium such as this. It’s absolutely beautiful!”

Improvements to the facility include an enlargement to 220 feet in order to qualify for NAIA Tournament play, field turf over the entire field and bullpen areas, site work and underdrainage systems to prevent flooding, new stadium lighting, new fencing and even Wi-Fi for the home dugout and press box.

The evening will include a chance for alumnae to practice on the field and participate in some friendly competition with the current CU softball team.

This event is open to the public and “first pitch” is set for 7 p.m.
