CU Hosts International Artisan Market

News Nov. 12, 2015

At Cornerstone University, the traditional holiday craft fair has been replaced by an International Artisan Market, designed as a “craft fair to change the world.” On Nov. 14, 2015, the CU Enactus team will host the market as a way to raise awareness and funds for various local and global non-profit organizations who sell international artisan crafts, including Casa de Esperanza, Women at Risk and Project AK-47.

Featuring artisan craft booths, refreshments and a children’s coloring corner, the International Artisan Market will be located in the Bernice Hansen Athletic Center on Saturday, Nov. 14 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. In addition, a select number of local crafters will be participating, with booth rental fees supporting MicroGive, a microlending project coordinated by Cornerstone’s Enactus team.

The CU Enactus team has over 50 student members who work on projects to empower people to improve their standard of living and quality of life in both the local and global community. Currently, the team is working on eleven projects, including the International Artisan Market, social media training seminars for small businesses, job preparedness training at Alpha Women’s Center and fundraising efforts for MicroGive and New Creation Cupcakes.
