America 250 & CU85:
Faith, Freedom, and the Common Good

“Seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you… for if it prospers, you too will prosper.”
— Jeremiah 29:7

Join Our Celebrations

America is a great nation founded on Biblical principles — truths about God-given rights, liberty, and responsibility — that made freedom possible. Nourished by deep theological roots, these founding principles have sustained our nation through times of testing and established America as a beacon of hope and opportunity.

As America approaches its 250th anniversary and Cornerstone University celebrates 85 years of Christ-centered mission, this year is a time to rejoice and give thanks for God’s blessings on our nation and our university. It is also a moment to reaffirm the responsibility of education to carry these foundations forward and to train a new generation to live as good citizens committed to the common good.

A Year of Celebration

Throughout 2026, Cornerstone University will engage this moment through a yearlong focus — America 250 & CU 85: Faith, Freedom, and the Common Good — bringing together learning, legacy celebrations, community service, and action across campus and our community through:

  • Public lectures and forums, including our signature Wisdom Conversations series, with contributions from historians, scholars, ministry leaders, and civic thinkers.
  • Curated learning experiences and exhibits connecting American history with Biblical principles.
  • Campus and community gatherings that express gratitude for liberty and lift our nation in prayer.
  • Service initiatives that put faith into action for the good of others.

Additional details, dates, and opportunities to participate will be announced throughout the year.

Honoring an American Heritage and Christian Legacy

Cornerstone University stands within the tradition of America’s earliest colleges — education shaped by faith and ordered toward the formation of character and responsible citizenship. Though higher education has drifted from it’s original purpose to form a more moral society, for 85 years, the university has integrated Biblical truth with academic excellence, preparing graduates to serve faithfully, lead with integrity, and contribute to the common good.

As we celebrate America’s 250th anniversary and Cornerstone’s 85th year, we give thanks for God’s faithfulness and boldly, publicly commit to stewarding this Christ-centered heritage for generations to come.
