Data Science Engineering Concentration

Data science engineering trains you to strategically leverage data with the goal of advancing technology. Combining the growing field of data science with a robust knowledge of engineering-based principles, this major prepares you to synthesize information, communicate informed business decisions and design data delivery systems that interface between engineers and end users.

Requiring classes in computer logic, statistics and computer programming, this degree equips you to lead change in data-driven processes and to excel as an influential, knowledgable and virtuous engineering professional. You’ll graduate with technical expertise in mathematics, software engineering and data mining.

Studies in data science engineering prepare you for career opportunities as a big data engineer, business analyst, database administrator, data architect or statistician.

Design and Innovation Engineering Concentration

Design and innovation engineering bridges your interests in engineering and human-centered design research. Through specialized training in drawing, creative problem-solving techniques and project management, this major readies you for a professional career as an empathetic, virtuous engineer.

Engineers with a bent for design and innovation are not satisfied with having always done something the same way. As such, your degree program will ensure that you have a robust knowledge of both creative processes and technological developments, resulting in your ability to contribute user-centric solutions as a member of a product development team or organization.

Studies in engineering design and innovation prepare you for career opportunities as civil designer, controls designer, creative technologist, design engineer, design manager, machine designer, product developer or software design engineer.

Environmental Engineering Concentration

Environmental engineering prepares you to view phases of a technical engineering project in relation to an area’s natural resources. With knowledge of soil composition, water conservation and biological topics such as botany, this major positions you to proactively address environmental concerns as a conscientious, virtuous engineering professional.

Turn your passion for creation care into a career. With concentration classes in biology and ecology, you’ll learn how to discover ways to decrease waste, alleviate pollution and improve public health. In addition, you’ll receive hands-on training that equips you to prepare and assess environmental impact statements.

Studies in environmental engineering prepare you for career opportunities as a civil project engineer, geotechnical engineer, land development engineer or water resources engineer.

Engineering Management Concentration

Engineering management capitalizes on your abilities to lead a team, plan project budgets and communicate strategic insights. Through hands-on integration of business and engineering principles, this major trains you to evaluate solutions for operations and manufacturing problems from the viewpoint of a virtuous, tech-savvy engineer.

This vocationally competitive degree prepares you to oversee large-scale projects and excel as a competent, compassionate leader. In addition to learning best practices for coordinating employees in design and logistics positions, you’ll graduate with technical expertise in mechanics, product design and project management.

Studies in engineering management prepare you for career opportunities as a construction management engineer, engineering project manager, engineering quality manager, industrial management engineer or systems analyst.
