CU Junior Selected for BNY Mellon Enactus Fellows Program

News Dec. 11, 2017

Jordyn Roodvoets (B.S. ’19), a second-year member of Cornerstone University’s Enactus team and vice president of projects, is participating in the 2017-18 BNY Mellon Enactus Student Fellows Program. She was one of only 150 students in the United States selected for this year’s elite program.

“I’m very proud of Jordyn and her acceptance into the BNY Mellon Enactus Student Fellowship,” Rachel Hammond, CU Enactus faculty adviser said. “She attacks new challenges with enthusiasm and inspires others around her to do so as well. Also, the certifications she will earn through the fellowship, particularly Project Management, fit perfectly with her role as vice president of projects for our Enactus team and her project management internship at Steelcase.”

The BNY Mellon Enactus Student Fellows Program is designed to help high achieving college undergraduates develop sustainable projects for their respective Enactus teams and prepare them to distinguish themselves as job candidates. Participants are selected based on their history of leadership, involvement in advisory committee activities and service hours, record of professional experiences and support of Enactus events.

As a student fellow this year, Roodvoets will receive training and opportunities for certification in three workforce competency areas: project management, entrepreneurial thinking and financial skills.

“When Professor Hammond sent me an email recommending that I should apply for this, I saw how this program fits me,” Roodvoets said. “I’m interested in all three of the competency areas, and I’m excited to learn more and kick start my career in project management.”

Upon successful completion of the program, Roodvoets will receive recognition at the 2018 USA National Exposition in Kansas City and participate in a private reception with top executives from Enactus partner companies.
