Expertise matters.

Our missions aviation major combines Cornerstone University's biblical studies and intercultural studies with aviation technology training from the School of Missionary Aviation Technology (SMAT), a nationally accredited aviation school.

At Cornerstone, you will be prepared to communicate the Bible's message with diverse audiences on the mission field and to support fellow missionaries. Then you will participate in an aircraft maintenance or pilot track for your required year-long, off-campus SMAT training. Together, these two sides of missions aviation equip you as a compassionate, considerate and uniquely qualified leader in global ministry.

Students who have a heart for global ministry and an aptitude for technology may want to consider a major in missions aviation. The work done by missionary aviators requires considerable mathematic, mechanical and interpersonal skills. They are often responsible for respectfully sharing the Gospel across cultures while also being analytical and creative problem-solvers.

Cornerstone's missions aviation major requires two years of undergraduate study on campus followed by a year-long, on-site training with SMAT in Ionia, Mich. Once SMAT training is complete, students return to CU to finish their undergraduate degree senior year.
