Christ & Culture Week: Biblical Truth and Today’s Culture
Who defines our identity? Who determines truth? What does the Bible say about sexuality? And how should Christians respond when Biblical truth conflicts with the culture around them?
The Christian worldview offers more than answers to these tough questions. It reveals the beauty and relevance of Biblical truth — and why the Gospel of Jesus Christ offers lasting hope, enduring goodness and true purpose. Christ & Culture Week, a new annual Cornerstone University initiative, will challenge students to ask: What does Scripture say about this — and how should it change the way we live, work and lead? How do we walk as He did, as outlined in 1 John 2:5-6, in our contemporary world? As an extension of the university’s distinctive education, The Cornerstone Core™, Christ & Culture Week brings that Biblical worldview into direct conversation with consequential cultural issues.
“Our students are entering professions and communities where they will be asked not only what they believe, but why,” said Cornerstone University President Gerson Moreno-Riaño. “Christ & Culture Week prepares them to know what is true, understand what God’s Word says and have the courage to live it. We want our graduates prepared to bring Biblical truth into their industries, their families and every place God gives them influence.”
Cornerstone University will inaugurate Christ & Culture Week on September 14-18, 2026. Nationally recognized Christian leaders Alisa Childers, Ryan Bomberger, and Joe Dallas will come to campus to address Biblical truth, identity, sexuality and the God-given value of human life.
Students, faculty and staff will be joined by churches and communities throughout West Michigan for the week’s conversations. The week will also feature a special screening of Ryan Bomberger’s autobiographical documentary, “Should Have Been Aborted.”
Cornerstone University welcomes:
Alisa Childers
Bestselling author, Christian apologist and former member of the Dove Award-winning Christian music group ZOEgirl, Childers knows personally what it means to wrestle with serious doubts about Christianity. Today, through her books such as “The Deconstruction of Christianity: What It Is, Why It’s Destructive, and How to Respond,” speaking and The Alisa Childers Podcast, she helps Christians respond to deconstruction, progressive Christianity and cultural claims about truth.
Ryan Bomberger
An Emmy Award-winning creative professional, author, international speaker and Cornerstone University National President’s Fellow, Bomberger co-founded The Radiance Foundation. Conceived in rape and adopted into a diverse family of 15, he has spent his career speaking publicly about abortion, adoption, race, identity and religious liberty — even when those convictions have brought national criticism and a federal free-speech battle.
On Tuesday evening, September 15, Bomberger will host a special screening of his 30-minute autobiographical documentary, “Should Have Been Aborted.”
Joe Dallas
Author, speaker and ordained pastoral counselor Joe Dallas has spent nearly four decades helping people understand and reclaim God’s created intent for sexuality. Drawing from his own story of leaving the church, embracing a gay identity and ultimately returning to Biblical Christianity, Dallas brings a deeply personal perspective to questions of sexuality, identity and Biblical truth.
