Cornerstone Celebrates First Nursing Cohort Graduates
The nursing workforce is expanding in Grand Rapids, Michigan, as Cornerstone University celebrates its first nursing cohort graduates. Congratulations to these exceptional new health care leaders! Nurses are the backbone of our health care system and communities for their dedication, skills, and sacrifices.
Our 82nd Commencement on May 4 is extra special as the inaugural cohort of Bachelor of Science in Nursing graduates step into their future profession. A special pinning ceremony on May 3 kicks off the celebration with prayer and a commitment to honor God by serving others.
Cornerstone is incredibly proud of our faculty and students’ hard work and accomplishments! Each meets the program’s rigorous standards for excellence, including those set by the prestigious Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accreditation.
This milestone comes at a time when nursing shortages are growing and Cornerstone’s nursing and health care programs are rapidly expanding. Cornerstone is committed to filling the health care workforce gap by educating professionals of compassion and competence who boldly possess Christ-centered character. Supporting this industry is deeply aligned with our Christian mission.
Thank you to our highly respected clinical partners who are also offering their congratulations to our graduates:
“I recently had the pleasure of working with Cornerstone University nursing students on a Medical Surgical unit at Corewell Health. The students were eager to learn and apply their skills to provide care to our patients. I was pleased to see how the university supported their students by providing elbow-to-elbow support at the bedside. This program has me excited to see how the future of nursing will impact our community and the patients we serve. We look forward to partnering with Cornerstone in future semesters to assist in mentoring and teaching our future nurses!”
— Lauren Nichol, a Nurse Manager at Corewell Health
Pray for our nursing graduates as they take their next bold step into their calling to serve God by serving others.
