Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) is an elective curriculum you take along with your required college classes. It gives you the tools, training and experiences that will help you succeed in any competitive environment. Along with great leadership training, Army ROTC can pay for your college tuition.
Because Army ROTC is an elective, you can participate in the program your freshman and sophomore years without any obligation to join the Army. You will have a normal college student experience like everyone else on campus, but when you graduate, you will be commissioned as an Officer in the Army. At that point, you will have a wide range of interest areas you can specialize in called branches.
Cornerstone University partners with Western Michigan University’s (WMU) ROTC program. First-time college students must apply to WMU by filling out the traditional undergraduate application. Each year, two to five students will be accepted into the ROTC scholarship program. Acceptance to the program is not guaranteed.
The ROTC application process should begin as early as your junior year in high school upon receiving your ACT/SAT test scores.
The ROTC Funding Guide outlines enrollment checklists, financial aid benefits and career opportunities for students considering participation in an ROTC program as an undergraduate student.
At Cornerstone, we are dedicated to a rigorous education for all. Cornerstone as a whole is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, and our business, education, ministry, and social work programs are also accredited by their respective associations.
