Teacher Education Division

The Teacher Education Division rigorously prepares future educators to teach with excellence in classrooms around the world. Through integrative approaches to education both inside and outside the classroom, you will be challenged to become both an influential teacher and a steadfast follower of Jesus Christ. The combination of these two factors empowers you to join the ranks of teacher education graduates Cornerstone sends out year after year to grow and expand hearts and minds in secular and religious schools.

Lucero Solis:
Teaching Through Relationships

Lucero Solis (B.A. ’19) knows that in order to be a transformational teacher you have to care about your students. She learned this from professors in the Teacher Education Division at Cornerstone University who guided her step-by-step through her program and made sure she had all the resources she needed to be successful. Now, as a math and science teacher at The Potter’s House High School, Lucero shows that same care for her students—and it makes all the difference. Her relational teaching style makes students feel welcome in her classroom as she helps them learn to the best of their ability.

Post-Bachelor Certification

The post-BA Certification is a program that can prepare you to sit for the Michigan Provisional Teaching Certificate. If you already have an undergraduate degree, you do not need to complete Cornerstone’s core curriculum requirements, only the courses necessary for teacher certification.

Teaching is not an easy career, but I have been inspired by the dedication of my professors here that not only have expertise in their fields but are incredible mentors who love and honor the Lord in the work that they do.
