Kathy Gibson, adjunct professor of voice, brings her vibrant personality and love of performing to her classroom as an applied voice teacher for music students at Cornerstone University. A lover of musical theatre and performing arts, she inspires her students to infuse their performances with life and expression. Former students have gone on to successful careers in Nashville and Los Angeles as singer songwriters, as back up singers for major recording artists, performers on Broadway and national tours.

Professor Gibson is the recipient of six Grand Awards for excellence in musical theatre and was The Savannah International Music Festival American Traditions Singing Competition Silver Medalist. She has national/international concert tours, symphony pops concerts and recordings to her credit.

Professor Gibson is a frequent director, choreographer and performer for productions and concerts in the Grand Rapids area, including Circle Theatre and Grand Rapids Civic Theatre. Professor Gibson also sings with the River City Jazz Ensemble and has opened for The Drifters, The Shirelles, Jay Leno, Bob Newhart, Sesame Street’s Bob McGrath and the letter B, former presidents and the ambassador of Italy.
