Raymond Jones

Professor Raymond Jones is an assistant professor of nursing at Cornerstone University. His goal is to train Cornerstone nursing students so that when they leave a patient room, the patient will say, “I’ve just experienced the presence—the hands and feet—of Jesus.”  

Professor Jones holds theological degrees from Asbury University, Asbury Theological Seminary and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. After years of serving in a variety of pastoral roles, Professor Jones felt the clear call of God to step into a different form of ministry: nursing.

Professor Jones obtained his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Hope College and his Master of Science in Nursing from Spring Arbor University. Currently, he is completing his Doctorate of Education from Trevecca Nazarene University with a focus on compassion fatigue. Professor Jones has served as a firefighter, trauma nurse and nursing educator. He taught nursing at two universities prior to coming to Cornerstone. In one of those roles, he launched and directed a BSN program. Most recently, Professor Jones has served with the ethics committee for The Christian Medical and Dental Association (CMDA). Professor Jones is a member of the Emergency Nurse Association (ENA), Sigma XI Scientific Society, Nurses Christian Fellowship, Christian Medical & Dental Association and the Global Methodist Church.

Professor Jones is married to Tami, a dental hygienist. They have two adult children, Ryan and Becca.
