Charity Cooper serves as an admissions counselor at Grand Rapids Theological Seminary (GRTS). Her role is to recruit and assist potential students in the application process and support them on their new journey as a GRTS student. Also, she is a part of the Urban Cohort program, pursuing a Master of Arts in Ministry Leadership. Charity’s studies have caused her to examine her personal life as a Christian, and most importantly, it has helped her develop a more intimate relationship with God.
Charity was born and raised in a Christian home and chose to accept Jesus Christ as her personal Savior as a young child. She has had the privilege of being an active member in the church by serving on various ministries such as the usher board; volunteering as a vacation Bible school leader and Sunday school superintendent; and helping in other areas as needed. She mentors a group of young ladies through G.E.M.S (Girls Encouraging and Motivating Each Other Together in Sisterhood). She is a blessed mother of five outstanding children whom she refers to as the “M” Dynasty Crew—Marreona, Marlon, Matthew, Mark-Emery and Malachi.
“Serving at GRTS matters to me because being an admissions counselor is not only an excellent outreach opportunity for recruiting new students, but it is a great way to share the word of God and love of God to the community, churches and the people we encounter on the website. I get to share the excitement of learning more about Christ, help students make an informed decision choosing GRTS as their school and share my personal experience of how enrollment will not just provide them with a degree, but it will challenge and strengthen their relationship with God in the process.”
